Opiate Addiction is powerful—and scary.
The fear of withdrawal and overwhelming cravings can make it feel impossible to stop. But there is hope. Suboxone® offers a safe, effective way to manage withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and start recovery without suffering.

What is Suboxone?
Suboxone® is a prescription medication used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD). It combines two ingredients:
-
Buprenorphine: A partial opioid agonist that helps reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings without producing the same “high” as full opioids.
-
Naloxone: An opioid antagonist that helps prevent misuse by blocking the effects of opioids.
Together, these ingredients help people stop using opioids safely, reduce the risk of relapse, and support long-term recovery.
How It Works
Suboxone attaches to the same brain receptors as opioids—but in a safer, more controlled way. This allows patients to:
-
Avoid painful withdrawal
-
Reduce cravings
-
Regain stability in daily life
-
Focus on healing and recovery
When used as prescribed, Suboxone is safe, evidence-based, and highly effective—especially when combined with ongoing support.

Getting Started
Beginning Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) treatment is a positive step toward recovery. Before your first dose, you’ll stop taking opioids for a short period to prevent withdrawal — your provider will guide you through every step and answer any questions along the way.

Your First Appointment
In your initial session, your provider will:✔ Review your medical and substance use history✔ Explain how Suboxone works, including risks and benefits✔ Determine if you’re a good candidate✔ Send a prescription to your local pharmacy with induction instructions✔ Be available for questions and support

Ongoing Treatment
To keep treatment safe and effective, CrisisBridge Psychiatry follows standard medical monitoring for all controlled medications. This includes periodic check-ins and tox screenings completed at a local lab. These are a normal part of treatment and help ensure your medication remains appropriate and effective.

Therapy Support
While therapy isn’t required, many patients find it helpful alongside medication. We can help connect you with trusted therapists in your area.
